Statewide virtual coaching available for jobseekers

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Amid job layoffs and hiring freezes, there are places still hiring. The Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board wants you to be ready for those jobs.

Amy Glasscock, Workforce Services Director at the Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board, says the board, “brings together businesses and community leaders throughout the bluegrass. And we develop strategic goals and we facilitate relationships through the 17 counties that we cover.”

Virtual coaching is something new the board started at the end of April. It’s called Kentucky Career Edge.

Glasscock says it’s an easy process to sign up that includes filling out a form, which then gives you multiple levels of access to career coaching, “Once the accounts created, you’ll be taken to the page to choose a section and a module to begin.”

According to Glasscock, those who sign up will learn about life skills and professional development. A tool kit is also part of the coaching which allows people to record an interview which they can get feedback on.

“It’s happening in every region, every county, as long as you have access to the Internet or by phone,” explained Glasscock.

Those looking for a job can also visit the Kentucky Career Center page HERE and search by county.
