State’s positivity rates ticks up from Wednesday, other numbers down

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Thursday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced 2,020,760 Kentuckians vaccinated, up almost 10,000 from Wednesday.

The governor also reported 421 new cases of #COVID19 in the commonwealth, and a positivity rate of 2.51%. The rate was up from 2.4% Wednesday but still slightly below Tuesday’s 2.52% rate.

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, the state reported:

New cases today: 421
New Cases Under Age 18: 78

Positivity rate: 2.51%, down from 2.4% Wednesday.

Deaths Thursday: 4, 2 new and 2 from audit

Total Deaths: 6,748

Hospitalized: 328, down from 349 Wednesday

IN ICU: 96, down from 109 Wednesday

On Ventilator: 50, unchanged from Wednesday

The top five counties by percent of residents vaccinated are: Woodford (60%), Franklin (58%), Fayette (57%), Scott (50%) and Boone (50%).

The bottom five counties by percent of residents vaccinated are: Christian (19%), Spencer (19%), Ballard (21%), McCreary (22%) and Lewis (22%).
