State Police: Murder and Kidnapping Arrest in Carter County

ASHLAND, Ky (WTVQ) – An arrest has been made in the Murder and Kidnapping investigation in Carter County.

33 year old Freddy Darren Irick of Carter County was arrested on Monday for the Murder of Marcus McDavid and the kidnapping of a woman, according to State Police. They say he and the woman were found on Taylor Hollow Road on Monday.

State Police have been investigating the murder and kidnapping that occurred on Sunday, May 24, at approximately 9 p.m. Troopers say they had arrived at a residence on Riverbend Way, and found 24 year old Marcus McDavid dead inside.

Sergeant Ben Cramer says that they later received evidence that a woman had been kidnapped from the residence by Freddy Irick, prompting them to obtain arrest warrants for Irick, for Murder and Kidnapping.

The woman’s name has not been released, but police say she did not receive any serious injuries during the kidnapping.

Officials say that an autopsy has been scheduled to be conducted on Marcus McDavid on Monday, in Frankfort.
