State Police: Man shot in head, shooter on the run

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – State police say a Fleming County man was shot in the head around 11 o’clock Wednesday night and they now have a warrant out for the alleged shooter.

Police say the shooting happened in the 1700 block of South Lick Road.
Authorities say the victim, Norman Jaussen, 54, was transported from the scene by Fleming County EMS and was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Investigators say the alleged shooter, Jonathan Maze, 34, was at a residence owned by Jaussen. Officials say as Maze was leaving the residence he fired several shots with a shotgun, one striking Jaussen in the face, and then fled into a wooded area near the home.

Police say a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jonathan Maze, for one count of Attempted Murder and one of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the location of Maze is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police in Morehead.
