State Police: Man Hit By Pickup In Adair County

According to state police, it happened just before 8:30 on Ky-551 south of Columbia.

Troopers said the victim, James K. Polston, 46, Columbia, was walking south, in the middle of the road, when he was hit by a truck headed north.

State police said the driver swerved to avoid Polston, but was not able to avoid the collision.

According to investigators, Polston was taken to Westlake Regional Hospital and was later flown to U.K. Hospital.

The driver was not hurt.

Troopers said they were still trying to figure out why Polston was in the road.
