State police investigating after Hopkins Co. inmate dies

HOPKINS COUNTY,  Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police is investigating after an inmate died at the Hopkins County Jail.

According to KSP, Jordan Kirkwood was found in the shower area, unresponsive, on Friday night.

KSP says medical staff inside the jail responded and began treating Kirkwood. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, according to police.

The cause of Kirkwood’s death is still under investigation.
