State police investigating deadly Pike County fire

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal fire that left two people dead in Pike County early Monday morning.

According to state police, troopers were called to the scene around 6:20 a.m. for a structure fire on Brushy Road in the Pikeville community.

Emergency responders discovered two bodies inside the home. The remains have been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for autopsy and identification.

Officials say the cause of the fire and the victims’ deaths remain under investigation. However, no foul play is suspected at this time.
