State Board of Education names Robbie Fletcher new Commissioner of Education
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Board of Education today selected Dr. Robbie Fletcher as the state’s next commissioner of education.
Fletcher has been superintendent of Lawrence County Schools since 2014.
He’ll begin his new role July 1st, pending approval by the Kentucky Senate.
As Education Commissioner, Fletcher will recommend and implement Board policies and directs the Department of Education in the management of the state’s 171 public school districts, the Kentucky School for the Deaf, Kentucky School for the Blind and the 50 state-operated area technology centers.
