Stanton gets grant to buy three police cars

STANTON, Ky. (WTVQ)A $50,000 competitive federal grant from U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development will help the city of Stanton Police Department buy three new police cars.

“The City of Stanton Police Department is grateful for this opportunity on receiving a USDA Rural Development Grant this year. With this grant, it will allow the City of Stanton to purchase 3 new police style cruisers to better assist our officers in calls for services for the community,” said Stanton Police Chief Arthur Lacy.“After recently being assigned the School Resource Officer program for the Powell County School District, the need for these cruisers is even more serious as the positions that were created from this program were two entirely new positions.
