Standoff in Jessamine County

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) -According the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office, a man was taken out of a Nicholasville home in handcuffs after a standoff Saturday night that lasted for hours.

According to police, neighbors say they heard several gunshots in the area.

Officers surrounded a home off Sulphur Well and Chrisman Mill Road around 5:00 o’clock when they were called to the scene.

The sheriff says the man was the only person inside the home and wasn’t holding anyone hostage, but he refused to come out.

Reportedly the man was taken into custody for a mental evaluation.
