St. Xavier beats Highlands to claim KHSAA State Baseball Title

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – On Saturday, two teams entered Whitaker Bank Ballpark in hopes of winning a state title.

St. Xavier and Highlands would battle for a chance to take that title trophy back home.

It would be a Ryan Nicholson two-run homer to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth that would blow this one wide open.

Andrew Littlefield would hit a three-run homer in the sixth to end it.

The St. Xavier Tigers are your 2018 KHSAA State Baseball Champs. They beat Highlands, 10-6.
