St. Jude Dream Home winner tours house

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Peggy Seithers of Paris toured the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway House in Lexington on Friday, a day after she won the $450,000 custom-built home in a raffle that raised a Lexington record $700,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She bought the $100 raffle ticket the first week they went on sale in the early spring.  She had ticket number 870 out of 7,000.  She was out mowing the grass when her name was randomly chosen in a drawing ‘live’ on ABC 36 News at 6 on Thursday.

She found out she had won the home in a hurry because her neighbor came running over to tell her the news and she says upon hearing it, she broke down in tears.

She says even though she’s overwhelmed and grateful for winning the contest, the most important part is the money raised for children fighting cancer and other childhood diseases at St. Jude.
