St. Joseph Hospital Foundation to hold Yes, Mamm! 5K
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A record crowd of 500 people is expected on Saturday, October 15 for Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation’s second annual Yes, Mamm! 5K race in Nicholasville.
The event, held at R.J. Corman Railroad Group Headquarters, is open to all ages and includes music, homemade ice cream and a chip-timed walk/run. It raises funds for the Yes, Mamm! program, which provides mammography screening and diagnostics to underinsured patients. Every dollar raised will support Yes, Mamm! programs based in Lexington and Nicholasville, which serve individuals in 15 counties in the Commonwealth.
“We’re running miles for mammograms, and there is no better time to do it than Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Leslie Buddeke Smart, division vice president of development, KentuckyOne Health. “Early detection is key when treating breast cancer, and this 5K raises funds to ensure our neediest neighbors get life-saving breast cancer screenings.”
Registration for the Yes, Mamm! 5K is $35 until October 14. After that, people can register for $40 in person during pick-up Friday and the day of the event. KentuckyOne Health and RJ Corman employees can register for $25.
The race begins rain or shine at 9 a.m., with race day registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. To register online, visit http://www.kentuckyonehealth.org/yesmamm5k.
R.J. Corman Railroad Group is located at 101 R.J. Corman Drive, Nicholasville, KY.
