SPD: Man in jail after running from police

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man is in custody after Somerset police say he stole from a car and ran from police on foot.

According to officers, a homeowner discovered 26-year-old Eric D. Muse in her vehicle just before 7:00 a.m.  When officers arrived, they say the homeowner told them Muse had just run off from the scene.  Shortly thereafter, officers say Muse walking in a nearby field.  When police moved in, Muse ran off through a backyard on Clements Avenue, but was captured by an officer on Bennelli Avenue.

Muse was arrested on several charges including theft, drug possession, and public intoxication.  He was taken to the Pulaski Co. Detention Center.
