Southern Lights Stroll 5K to kick off holiday light display at Kentucky Horse Park

Saturday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Competitive runners and casual strollers are invited to take part in the Southern Lights Stroll 5K at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation hosts the annual race to kick off the holiday season, in partnership with Southern Lights. Each year, the Kentucky Horse Park boasts more than a million twinkling lights known as Southern Lights presented by Friends of Coal. The Southern Lights Stroll 5K kicks off the drive-thru holiday light tour season which is set to begin Nov. 26.
This year, a food drive for God’s Pantry Food Bank and local animal shelters will take place in conjunction with the 5K. All participants are asked to bring non-perishable items to help the needy families and individuals of Central Kentucky and local animal shelters.
The 2021 Southern Lights Stroll will take place on Saturday, November 20. The 5K competitive chipped race will start at 6:00 p.m. and the untimed stroll/walk will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available HERE.
According to the foundation, 3 Way Racing will provide chip timing for the competitive 5K race, complete with awards.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Shirts are limited to the first 2000 adults registered. Children ages 7-12 will not receive a shirt unless they register as an adult.
Early packet pickup will be in the Visitor Information Center on the following dates:
Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4-7 p.m.
Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4-7 p.m.
Packet pickup will begin at 4:30 p.m. on race day (Saturday, Nov. 20).
