One dead, one injured in I-75 crash near Clays Ferry Bridge

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Police confirm one person has died and another was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash on southbound I-75 near the Clays Ferry Bridge.

Officials say the crash involved two vehicles. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is now investigating.

One southbound lane has reopened, but drivers should expect significant delays and use caution in the area.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Fayette County are closed and traffic is being diverted at Exit 104 (Athens) following a serious collision near the Clays Ferry Bridge.

According to officials, all southbound drivers must exit at 104 and find an alternate route. The estimated duration of the closure is 2–3 hours.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and use caution while crews work the scene.
