Southbound I-75 overnight closures set in southwest Ohio

CINCINNATI (AP) – Ohio transportation authorities have scheduled a series of southbound Interstate 75 overnight shutdowns near Cincinnati beginning Thursday night.

State transportation department officials plan full closures 11 p.m. (EST) Thursday and Friday until 5 a.m. the next days. Three are planned next week to accommodate bridge work.

The closures at Ohio State Route 562 just north of Cincinnati will necessitate detours. Drivers heading toward downtown Cincinnati and Kentucky will be detoured to westbound Interstate 275 to eastbound I-74, and then back onto I-75 southbound.

The southbound I-75 ramp to eastbound State Route 562 will remain open.

Full overnight closures are also planned starting at 11 p.m. on the nights of Dec. 14, 16 and 18.

Transportation officials say message boards and signs will alert motorists. Weather conditions could cause schedule changes.
