UPDATE: South Forbes Road work continues, closure scheduled

UPDATE POSTED AUGUST 26, 2021 AT 4:15 P.M.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Press Release) – Construction work on South Forbes Road will move to the south side of Manchester Street beginning on Monday, August 30. The closure will start at the intersection of Old Frankfort and Forbes and extend south on Forbes approximately 300 feet to the entrance of the ATS asphalt plant.

The intersection will remain open. All businesses in the area will remain accessible.

The Manchester Street, South Forbes Road, Old Frankfort Pike intersection is being rebuilt to accommodate the Town Branch Trail. This closure, which is part of that work, is anticipated to last three weeks.

Traffic headed south on Forbes Road will be detoured to either New Circle Road via Old Frankfort Pike or Oliver Lewis Way via Manchester Street. Traffic on Versailles Road wishing to head north should use New Circle Road or Oliver Lewis Way.

Destinations between the closure and Versailles Road will remain accessible from Versailles Road.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)South Forbes Road in Lexington will be shut down between Manchester Street and the railroad tracks beginning Monday, June 21, to allow for construction work.

All businesses will remain accessible.

The Manchester Street, South Forbes Road, Old Frankfort Pike intersection is being rebuilt to make way for Town Branch Trail. This closure, which is part of that work, is anticipated to last three weeks.

Traffic headed north on Forbes Road will be detoured to either New Circle Road via Old Frankfort Pike or Oliver Lewis Way via Manchester Street.

Traffic headed south on Forbes Road will be detoured to either New Circle Road via Leestown Road or Oliver Lewis Way via West Main Street.

Vehicles wishing to reach destinations along S. Forbes Rd. that are north of Manchester St. take Leestown Road/West Main Street.
