Some Veterans Fight For Medical Marijuana
On Thursday in Frankfort, some veterans drew attention to the problems associated with PTSD and made an appear to state lawmakers that medical marijuana should be available for use as a treatment.
As it stands, a veteran who tests positive for pot would lose their health benefits. But many veterans say marijuana has been shown to be more effective in treating PTSD than many VA approved medications. Many of the veterans said for some, access to medical marijuana can literally mean the difference between life and death. they point to a spike in suicides among veterans, that officials largely attribute to problems with PTSD.
