Some Lexington Schools Put On Heightened Alert After Shooting
Some Lexington schools were put on heightened alert Thursday afternoon after a reported shooting near downtown.
Police said it happened around 2:00 on Sixth Street.
Officers said a man was shot in the hand.
The school district said William Wells Brown Elementary, Steam Academy,
Lexington Traditional Magnet School and Arlington Elementary were put on heightened alert.
The schools were dismissed under the direction of police, according to the district.
