Solid Blue fans line up to get commemorative bottle signed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – More than a thousand Solid Blue fans got the chance to see a legendary coach, and a legendary team, in person on Friday.

Former UK basketball head coach Joe B. Hall was at Keeneland signing commemorative Maker’s Mark bottles honoring the 1978 NCAA championship team.

Joining him were four former Kentucky Wildcats: Jack “Goose” Givens, James Lee, Kyle Macy, and Rick Robey.

Fans started lining up at Keeneland yesterday to get their  bottles signed this morning.  For many, this has become an event they look forward to each year.  Fans say being able to meet their favorite coaches and players is a thrill.

Proceeds, from sales of the bottles, benefit the Center for Academic and Tutorial services at UK.
