Solid Blue fans celebrate Adolph Rupp’s legacy at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – Solid Blue fans celebrated the legacy of Adolph Rupp at Friday morning’s Maker’s Mark bottle signing. This year’s commemorative bottle features the legendary University of Kentucky basketball coach. Four of Coach Rupp’s all american players were on hand at Keeneland to sign the bottles. The players included Cliff Hagan, Dan Issel, Frank Ramsey and Adrian ‘Odie’ Smith.

Hundreds of fans camped out overnight at the Keene barn despite it being a ticketed event. This means that fans who had tickets were guaranteed a spot in line for the signing. 

Fans told ABC 36, it is a tradition that they look forward to every year. Many fans say they are participating to support education and UK basketball.

Only a few hundred camped out overnight, but more than a thousand were expected to walk through the lines Friday morning.
