Social media threats cause school district to cancel classes

MONTGOMERY CO., Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Montgomery County Schools announced they are cancelling classes Friday following rumored threats on social media.

Superintendent Matt Thompson says even though the threats appear to be unfounded following an investigation, the district made the decision to close schools Friday.

Meanwhile, a second investigation is continuing in Montgomery County after a student allegedly brought a loaded gun to McNab middle school on Tuesday.
