Smithfield man charged with murder

LAGRANGE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Smithfield man has been charged with murdering someone from Henry County, according to State Police.

They say Gregory Heightchew was charged with murdering Elijah Creekmore last week.

Creekmore’s body was discovered burned in a vehicle in Lockport, according to investigators.

Police say Heightchew was served with the murder warrant while at the Oldham County Detention Center on Friday.

Officials say Heightchew was being held for other charges including attempted murder.
