Skeletal remains found in Shelby Co. identified
SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Shelby County Coroner’s Office says skeletal remains discovered last year are those of a missing Colorado man.
The coroner made the announcement on Thursday.
The family of Timothy Stites reported him missing in 2016. He was from Colorado Springs and 29-years-old at the time of his disappearance.
His family says he was a construction worker and traveled for his job but they do not know why he would be in Kentucky.
In February of 2017, Stites remains were discovered in Waddy after a dog brought its owner a human skull. More bones were found in the area.
According to the coroner, there was no sign of trauma to the remains and they do not know when Stites died.
As of now, the coroner says this is not a criminal investigation.
