Six-year-old Georgetown boy gives popsicles to first responders

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Georgetown six-year-old boy with a big heart is making a difference and bringing smiles to the Georgetown police and fire departments.

He’s doing it with #TayMissionPops.

Taytum Ray Hardin says he got the idea from Lexington police officers who give out freeze pops in the community.

For the last year he’s collected cans to raise money to buy popsicles to help officers and firefighters do that.

Last month, he was able to donate 10,000 popsicles to Georgetown Police and Fire. And he wants to make another big donation.

On top of collecting cans, right now he’s selling t-shirts to raise the money.

He and his mom, Susan Hardin, hope to sell 100 shirts by the end of the month. All proceeds will go to buying popsicles.
