Sisters killed in I-75 crash, priest helps family pay for funeral costs
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington priest donated to a family struggling to pay for the funeral costs for two sisters killed a crash on I-75 last week.
Father Jim Sichko said he saw the back up from the crash the night it happened.
When he heard the family was asking for help to pay for Taylor Blevins and Caitlyn Bailey’s funeral he said he felt compelled to donate to the funeral home on their behalf.
The crash happened Wednesday night.
Police said Tammy Rodriguez was trying to evade police, turning onto I-75 northbound going the wrong way when she hit the sisters car head on.
The coroner pronounced Blevins, Bailey and the passenger in Rodriguez’s car dead on scene.
Rodriguez has been charged with driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without a license.
