Signatures grow on petition connected to dog dragging
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The number of signatures on a petition against two men accused of dragging a dog to death last month in Lexington is growing.
On the facebook page, "Justice for Bella the Dog," features a petition to the Fayette Co. court system, asking that the two men accused in Bella’s death receive the maximum punishment, if they’re found guilty. The petition now has over 2,500 signatures.
Police say Vincent O’Bryan and Jesse Durham were drunk when they tied Bella to the passenger side of a car, then started driving along Winchester Road. Officers also say they think someone in the car got out and removed the dog’s collar before driving off.
In July, O’Bryan told ABC 36 news that it was an accident, and that he had forgotten he tied Bella to the car.
