Sign changes scheduled for Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that work will begin for sign revisions in Lexington. This is the first phase for the State Primary Road System signing project. State and LFUCG routes have been approved for transfers and changes.
KYTC says this will take place starting Tuesday, August 21 through Tuesday, September 11 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. They say no weekend work is planned at this time.
Locations for replacement and installation of signage:
- South Limestone/US 27 – from Gazette Avenue (milepoint 4.951) to Virginia Avenue and Huguelet Drive (milepoint 5.162)
- Virginia Avenue/US 27 – from South Limestone and Huguelet Drive (milepoint 5.162) to South Broadway & Red Mile Road (milepoint 5.653)
- South Broadway/US 27 – from Virginia Avenue and Red Mile Road (milepoint 5.653) to Pine Street (milepoint 6.351)
- South Broadway/US 68 – from Pyke Road (milepoint 5.450) to Virginia Avenue and Red Mile Road (milepoint 5.639)
o daily shoulder and lane closures will be in effect
o at least one lane will remain open at all times in each direction
o appropriate signage will be in place to direct the traveling public
