Shots fired outside Fayette Mall
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Just hours after a peace walk in Lexington, a shooting broke out outside Fayette Mall in the Dillard’s parking lot.
Lexington Police say it happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday night. Two people reportedly got into an argument and one person pulled a gun, firing multiple shots at the other person.
Police say a friend took that person to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Some cars were damaged and several windows were blown out, but police say no one else was hurt.
“We believe at this time it’s an isolated incident between two parties that had a relationship. They knew each other so we don’t feel this is a random act. We don’t feel there is danger to anyone in the mall,” Lieutenant Brad Ingram Said.
Police say the suspect is a man who drove away in a dark colored sedan. The mall never closed and will open back up, as scheduled at noon Sunday.
