Shooting suspect due in court in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A suspect charged in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday in downtown Lexington is set to appear in court today for an arraignment.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Alonzo Richardson was arrested on Monday on charges of assault and violation of an Emergency Protective Order (EPO). Investigators allege that Richardson is responsible for shooting a man on East Main Street and North Limestone on Friday night.
The victim of the shooting was transported to a hospital with reported life-threatening injuries, as stated by the police.
Court records indicate that Richardson’s arraignment is scheduled for one Tuesday. Further details regarding the case are expected to be revealed during the court proceedings.
