Shooting on interstate shuts down I-71 in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) — Interstate 71 is shut down in Louisville after a shooting near the Gene Snyder Expressway.

Louisville ABC affiliate WHAS11 is reporting that MetroSafe dispatchers confirmed the shooting around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

I-71 southbound is shut down and will remain closed until police clear the scene. The northbound lanes are open but traffic is moving slowly.

WHAS11 says a Tri-Marc camera in the area shows a car that might have crashed into the median at that location.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
