Sheriff: Stolen ATV recovered, couple arrested
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An East Bernstadt man, who was already in jail, and his girlfriend are charged in connection to a stolen ATV, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say 22-year old Dustin Patterson is accused of stealing a 2002 blue Yamaha Wolverine ATV, valued at approximately $3,000, from a residence on Allen Road in northern Laurel County last weekend.
Deputies say by the time they found the stolen ATV in a garage, the body had been painted black and the motor red. Investigators say Patterson’s girlfriend, 34-year old Danielle Bowling of East Bernstadt, told her parents and other people that if anyone asked, that she had brought the ATV to the residence and that she had purchased it.
When Bowling went to the Laurel County Detention Center to visit Patterson, she was arrested in the parking lot, according to deputies. They say she was driving on a DUI suspended license and had an outstanding arrest warrant in connection to drug charges. She was jailed on a number of new charges in connection to the ATV theft, according to investigators.
