Sheriff: Pedestrian hit by car on Georgetown Rd.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is recovering after she was hit by a car on Georgetown Road.

It says it happened just before 6:45p.m. Thursday. Deputies say 22-year-old Destiny Rancher of Frankfort was struck while standing on or near the white line on the outer right side of the road.

The sheriff’s office says Rancher was flown to U.K. Hospital in Lexington with serious injuries. It says as of 10:00 Thursday night, she was listed in stable condition.

Investigators say it’s too early to determine the cause of the accident. Deputies say a reconstruction unit was called to the scene to help figure out what happened.
