Sheriff: Knox Co. man assaults 2 people, ends up shot

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Knox County man who deputies say assaulted two people ended up getting shot by one of them.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Albert Lee France showed up at a home on KY. 3436 Monday and assaulted a woman.

Deputies say he then began beating up her boyfriend outside the home.

The woman went into the home and grabbed a gun, and, when France came toward her, deputies say she shot him.

France was found wandering along a road, suffering from a single gunshot wound, and was taken to a hospital by deputies.

On Wednesday, he was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

Authorities say the woman who shot France will not be charged.
