Sheriff: Homeowners hold man at gunpoint in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a man was held at gunpoint by homeowners who caught him breaking into a building on their property Sunday.

The homeowners called authorities around 8 p.m. about a burglary. The sheriff says the homeowners caught 34-year-old Johnathan Sizemore burglarizing an outbuilding on their property on Paces Creek Road and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

The sheriff’s office says Sizemore showed signs of being intoxicated and later admitted to taking methamphetamine.

Sizemore was arrested and charged with burglary and public intoxication.
