Sheriff: Armed man robs Zaxby’s in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is trying to identify the armed man that it says robbed a restaurant.

Investigators say it happened Thursday night at Zaxby’s on Versailles Road. The sheriff’s office says just before 11:00, the suspect went into the restaurant through the back door, surprising the clerk who was closing the store.

Investigators say the man held an employee at gunpoint with a semi-automatic handgun, and took cash and the clerk’s cell phone before running off.
