Shepherdsville man accused of soliciting sex from children

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Investigators say a tip from the public led to the arrest of a man they say was trying to have sex with children.

The Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations Cyber Crimes Unit announced Friday that 57-year-old John Marvin Mix, of Shepherdsville, was indicted on 12 counts of using electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.

Nix was arrested at his home on March 5.

This comes after the indictment was issued by Franklin Circuit Court February 27.

The Cyber Crimes Unit says it launched an investigation after it received information that Nix was attempting to solicit sex from underage children.

Nix is currently in Franklin County Regional Jail.
