Shelbyville Mother Arrested On Child Abuse Charges
A Shelbyville woman was arrested charged with abusing her one-month-old son.
State troopers say Hermelinda Ramos-Perez, 29, assaulted her son at the Shelby County Apartment Complex in Shelbyville on October 8th. The infant was taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville with injuries to his head and face.
State police and the Shelby County Cabinet for Health and Family Services started a joint investigation into Perez. Troopers say the investigation took multiple interviews with a spanish translator.
Perez was arrested on October 15th on assault, and 2nd degree domestic violence charges. She was booked into the Shelby County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation, and state police say more arrests are pending.
