Shelby County man arrested in sting against online predators
Lawrenceburg Police, Shelby Sheriff partner with state on investigation
SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced Monday a partnership with local law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of 28-year-old Nathaniel Johnson, of Shelby County for child exploitation charges.
Johnson was charged with four counts of unlawful use of electronic communications system to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities (Class D Felony), two counts of abandonment of a minor (Class D Felony), and four counts of attempted distribution of obscene material to a minor (Class A Misdemeanor), Cameron said.
No bond has been set, according to Shelby County Detention Center records.
The state’s Cyber Crimes Unit worked with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrenceburg Police Department in an online joint sting operation that led to the arrest.
