Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace become 17th and 18th former wildcats to win an NBA title
OKLAHOMA CITY, Ok. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – With a 103–91 win over the Pacers on Sunday night, the Thunder captured their first NBA title since relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 29 points, five rebounds, and 12 assists. He was named NBA Finals MVP after averaging 30.3 points, 5.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game during the series.
Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace became the 17th and 18th former Kentucky Wildcats to win an NBA championship. In total, former Wildcats have now collected 26 NBA championship rings.
