Sexual Assault Reported On UK Campus

Police are looking into a sex crime at The University of Kentucky.

They say one student reported that another student that she knew sexually assaulted her while they were in a residence all Thursday afternoon.

They offer these tips to help keep campus safe:

  •         If you see something, say something. Call 911 for emergencies.
  •         Have a charged, easily accessible cell phone handy to call for help.
  •         When possible, walk with other people after dark.
  •         Make sure whoever you’re traveling with gets home safely.
  •         Request a free safety escort by calling (859) 257-SAFE.
  •         Park in well-lit areas.
  •         If someone threatens you and demands things like a purse or wallet, give them what they want.
  •         If you feel threatened, use authoritative statements like "back off!" or "stop!"
