Several Central KY Dairy Queen’s Affected By Security Breach

Several Central Kentucky Dairy Queen stores were affected by a national credit card hack.

The company said thieves may have gained access to customer names, credit and debit card numbers and expiration dates at close to 400 stores across the nation.

The security breach reportedly happened between August and October.
 
Dairy Queen said some of the affected stores in Kentucky were in cities that included Lexington, Richmond, Winchester, Mount Sterling, West Liberty, Somerset, Lawrenceburg, Georgetown, Versailles and Paris.

Dairy Queen said there was no evidence that Social Security numbers, card PIN numbers or email addresses were stolen.

The Minnesota-based company said it had offered customers free identity repair services.

Dairy Queen said customers who believed their information may have been compromised should look at their credit card statements.

Potential victims were also advised to contact their bank or payment card issuer to report a potential breach.
