Sentencing set for Thursday in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Alysha Noel is scheduled for sentencing Thursday. in connection with the murder of 64-year-old William Ashby, whose body was found two years ago at a hotel in Lexington.

Noel, guilty of murder and tampering with physical evidence, was arrested along with a second suspect, Danny Lee Sims, in April 2022. The incident occurred at the Catalina Motel on West New Circle Road, where investigators discovered Ashby’s body underneath a bed. His feet were bound with duct tape, and his throat had been slashed.

Court records indicate that Sims is due in court for a pretrial conference in August.
