Sentencing date set for teen found guilty in Mercer Co. murder
MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man convicted of murdering a Mercer County teenager is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
A jury found Trenton Easterling guilty on Thursday for the murder of 17-year-old Tristan Cole.
Cole’s body was found April 12, 2016 in a barn on Deep Creek Road.
He was shot to death.
Easterling was 17-years-old at the time of the murder but was tried as an adult.
The jury recommended a 30-year sentence.
Easterling will be formally sentenced on March 13.
