Senator Bernie Sanders holding rally in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will be in Louisville on Friday.

Sanders is holding a rally to oppose the Republican tax plan. It is the latest effort by activists to stop the Republican plan.

The tax package advanced on Tuesday.

GOP leaders hope to have the full Senate take up the bill later this week.

Sanders is working with MoveOn.org and the NotOnePenny coalition to coordinate rallies across the country through December 2017 to gather opposition to the tax plan Sanders says will benefit millionaires while hurting the middle class.

The rally will take place at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville at 7 p.m.
