Senate candidates confident as elections approach

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Senate candidates Jim Gray and Rand Paul both say they’re confident as November’s elections approach.

Gray, Lexington’s mayor was at the Charles Young Center Wednesday. In addition to celebrating the location’s inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, Gray took time to catch ABC 36 up on his campaign.

“I believe that taking the Lexington message of cooperation and working together and escaping and getting through gridlock and dysfunction is exactly what Washington needs,” says Gray.

Incumbent senator Rand Paul, also in Lexington, spent his morning at Whitaker Bank Ballpark where he took batting practice and met with kids before the Legends took the field.

Paul says his campaign will continue with ‘town hall’ style stops.

“What’s going on in your community, what can government do to allow you to prosper more, to employ more people, to create more jobs,” says Paul.
