Senate bill 250 amendment to be filed

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Representative Jerry T. Miller plans to file a floor amendment to  Senate Bill 250 Tuesday placing a 5-year sunset on the Superintendent’s ability to have final say on principal selection.

Senate Bill 250, a measure relating to only Jefferson County Public Schools, would allow more authority to match the increased responsibilities of the superintendent of a county with a consolidated government.

The present JCPS superintendent is Dr. Martin “Marty” Pollio.

If passed, Rep. Miller’s House floor amendment would place a 5- year sunset, or expiration point, in the statute.

Earliest action for passage of Senate Bill 250 in the House is Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
