Semi overturns on I-75 at Southern Split, traffic reduced to one lane in both directions

UPDATE: Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries from the accident.

Southbound traffic is still down to one lane, while all northbound lanes are open.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Traffic is moving slowly through the Southern Split after a semi overturned on the southbound side of Interstate 75 near mile marker 111.

According to @lexwrecks, southbound traffic is reduced to one lane, and northbound lanes are also down to one after other vehicles were involved on that side of the highway. Drivers should expect significant delays in both directions and consider alternate routes until the scene is cleared.

Authorities are asking motorists to use caution in the area as cleanup and recovery efforts continue.
