Second Publix to open Wednesday in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Publix is expanding again in Lexington, with a second grocery store set to open Wednesday morning on the city’s south side.

According to the company, the new location at the Fountains at Palomar on Fountain Blue Lane will officially open at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4. Publix says the store will bring approximately 140 new jobs to the area.

The first Lexington Publix opened earlier this year off Citation Boulevard in the northern part of town. With the new store now opening in Palomar, shoppers on the south side will also have convenient access to the popular Florida-based grocery chain.
